Kathe Kollwitz

(1867-1945)

German artist, who worked in painting, printmaking, etching, lithography, woodcuts and sculpture. Her works—extremely moving—depicted the suffering of the working class, who were the majority of her physician husband’s patients. Her works are found in major museums around the world
