Barbara Nessim

(b. 1939)

American artist and illustrator; one of the first female illustrators working in the USA in the 1960s. Nessim produced many works in ink and watercolor and was among the first to pursue digital art. A continuous theme in her work is women: their lives, work, interests, emotions.

Her works have been exhibited at museums worldwide, including the Kunst Museum (Basel), the Louvre, the Smithsonian Institution, and London’s Victoria and Albert Museum.
